The Department of Human Services, Norristown State Hospital is seeking hard-working, enthusiastic, compassionate, and caring Social Workers, who are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients. Norristown State Hospital is a long-term psychiatric facility that provides dedicated, high-quality care to the people who call Norristown State Hospital home.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Social Worker 1, you will function as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team and be involved in providing group treatment programs to the patients, as both a primary therapist and backup. Social work responsibilities include the completion of Initial and Annual Assessments, the development of a Treatment Plan with a multidisciplinary team, and the provision of appropriate clinical services. You will serve as a liaison/therapist/resource to families and community agencies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Travel and overtime: as needed. FREE PARKING! Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

A bachelor's or master's degree in social work or social welfare.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
