Anti-Tamper System Security Engineer

Job Description

Develop and implement Anti-Tamper (AT) measures across the System Development Lifecycle.

Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AT strategies and solutions.

Identify and protect Critical Program Information (CPI) using DoD 5200.39 guidelines.

Engineer secure systems aligned with NIST 800-160 standards.

Conduct threat assessments, trade studies, and attack/countermeasure analysis.

Draft Program Protection Plans (PPP), AT Plans, Cybersecurity Strategies, and Security Classification Guides.

Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) steps 1-4 and develop accreditation packages.

Perform security testing, verification, and validation activities.

Evaluate and qualify security architecture improvements and vulnerability responses.

Collaborate with customers, internal teams, and leadership to define requirements and solutions.

Mentor junior engineers and support policy development for emerging security technologies.

Provide DoD software selection and approval processes for COTS, GOTS, and FOSS.

Assist with configuration management and maintenance of information systems and data.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree + 9 years experience OR Master's + 7 years OR 13 years without a degree.

Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.

Ability to obtain DoD 8140 (or NIST 800-181) certification within 6 months.

Hands-on experience with Anti-Tamper implementation and CPI protection.

Familiarity with RMF processes, embedded systems security, and DoD software approval for COTS/GOTS/FOSS.
