Production Operator (Blend Operator)

Position Summary

The Production Operator (Blend Operator) supports daily manufacturing operations, including batching, blending, equipment operation, documentation, and food safety compliance. This position plays a key role in maintaining product accuracy, sanitation standards, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture batches based on work orders and blend sheets, ensuring ingredient accuracy and sequencing.

Operate production equipment including blenders, sifters, air systems, and metal detectors.

Weigh raw materials, document lot numbers, and enter production data into tracking systems.

Conduct pre- and post-operation safety and quality inspections (scales, sanitation, equipment readiness). *

Perform in-process testing including weight verification, sanitation checks, and QA sampling. *

Review batch records and pick tickets to ensure proper labeling and lot control. *

Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area in compliance with sanitation standards. *

Adhere to GMPs, HACCP, Allergen Control, Kosher, Organic, and Food Defense programs. *

Assist with deep cleans and basic preventative maintenance.

Follow OSHA safety protocols; report hazards and unsafe behavior immediately. *

Support warehouse material handling and organization as needed.

Perform additional manufacturing-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

Experience in food, ingredient, or general manufacturing environments preferred.

Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations.

Ability to read batch instructions and follow written production paperwork.

Comfortable with production equipment, scales, and basic system entries.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.

Forklift/pallet jack experience preferred (not required; training available).

Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing setting.

Lift and move up to 55 lbs regularly; push/pull heavy drums with mechanical assistance.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, blending equipment, and hand tools.

Work in temperature-variable environments; climb ladders as needed.

Full range of motion and manual dexterity for equipment operation.

Education / Experience

High School Diploma or GED required.

1--2 years of manufacturing or food production experience preferred.

Blending, batching, or QA experience is a plus.

Work environment/Hours:

Full-time: Work hours are typically 5:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Thursday with occasional overtime.
