Job Description:
CDM Smith is looking for an Environmental Scientist in Tampa to work within our Environmental Services Team.
Under direct supervision, performs basic compilation and analysis of site data. Assists with the application of site data to further the preferred project approach. Under the direct supervision of a qualified professional, conducts field site investigations. Performs soil, water, air, etc. sampling, wetland delineation, wildlife/habitat surveys, and similar site investigations and documentation of results. Under direct supervision, assists with the preparation of environmental studies (e.g., NEPA documents, field reports, feasibility studies, etc.) of basic complexity. Collaborates with scientists, engineers, and construction staff to implement the approved approach (e.g., restoration, remediation, etc.). Provides advice and expertise on the selected project approach. Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Performs other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline. 0 years. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of standard field protocols for their respective discipline. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Good written and verbal communications skills. Basic knowledge of scientific methods and processes. Basic knowledge of regulations (federal, state, and local) governing environmental review and project implementation.
Background Check and Drug Testing Information:
CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. Additional Compensation:
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
