Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Eugene, Oregon. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, has a strong grasp of accounting principles, and can manage complex financial tasks. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations during this transitional period.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage month-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to guarantee data integrity.

Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.

Conduct account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

Perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements.

Monitor and analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.

Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting workflows and procedures.

Provide support and guidance to team members during financial operations.

Utilize Sage Intacct software to manage accounting tasks effectively.

Assist in the onboarding process for the new team member once the ongoing position is filled. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting roles, particularly in month-end close processes.

Expertise in managing general ledger activities and journal entries.

Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.

Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
