The Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Program (SCRP) is a newly established state initiative designed to expand retirement savings access for private sector employees across Minnesota. As we prepare to roll out this transformative program, we are seeking a strategic and dynamic Communications and Marketing Coordinator to lead our outreach efforts and help build public awareness statewide.
In this role, you will coordinate the strategic communications and marketing activities for SCRP, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining marketing materials, managing website content, coordinating press release and media relations, overseeing social media presence. In this position you will also engage with customer employers and employees, responding to their program inquiries and as a representative of the agency at informational meetings to help Minnesotans understand the benefits of the program.
As the lead of the agency's Communications team, you will work closely with the executive director, the SCR Board, external program vendors, and communications team staff to implement communication strategies that support SCRP's mission and goals.
Hybrid Work Environment: This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework agreement, onsite attendance will be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations or a closely related field. Experience must include working on marketing campaigns and communications strategy with demonstrated experience planning, designing, evaluating, and implementing a program and project activities.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.

Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation skills, to engage diverse audiences and convey complex information in approachable and understandable way.
Research and analytical skills to translate complex topics into approachable, clear, and engaging content.
Digital content and website management expertise, including knowledge of accessibility standards and experience with tools and technologies such as HTML, GovDelivery, Tridion, Google Analytics, or equivalent systems.
Organizational and project management proficiency, capable of balancing daily operations with strategic, long-term initiatives.
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite with a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field.
Knowledge or experience in the retirement or financial services industry, with understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Knowledge of state legislative processes and experience developing communications or informational materials for a governing entity such as the legislature or board.
Proficiency in social media strategy including campaign development, implementation, analysis.
Experience in media relations or prior work as a member of the media.
Experience in graphic design and production, including layout and visual storytelling for marketing materials.
