Operating System (EOS ) framework, the Assistant Director, Vieth
Institute for Real Estate Leadership serves as an integrator of
operations, people and strategy and the visionary, translating ideas
into action, building traction, and driving consistent execution. This
role is responsible for harmoniously uniting the major functions of the
institute, ensuring that day-to-day operations align with strategic
priorities, and that the team executes the vision of the executive
director and institute faculty and staff with clarity, consistency, and
accountability. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Execution & Project
Management Manage the institute\'s strategic goals, supervising
actionable project plans with milestones and accountability among
institute staff and affiliated faculty Track team and initiative
progress, follow up on deliverables, and own the institute\'s execution
rhythm Supervise timelines and execute on all institute goals and
initiatives, including resourcing, and organizational bandwidth across
the major Vieth Institute disciplines (business, engineering, law, and
others as necessary) Manage and execute on their leader\'s incoming
ideas and requests to keep the team focused on highest priorities 2.
Strategic Support for the leader Manage the day-to-day supervision and
delegation of major institute goals on behalf of the executive director
Supervise all day-to-day operations of the institute, allowing their
leader to remain focused on big relationships, storytelling, innovation,
and growth Manage budget, including revenue and expenses, annual
reporting, and donor relations and fund management. Review and
synthesize documents, prep strategy memos, and coordinate follow-ups
from meetings Serve as a strategic sounding board, offering perspective,
challenging ideas and planning discipline Protect \"deep work\" blocks
in their leader\'s calendar; support time audits and productivity
sprints 3. Team Alignment & Operational Rhythm Lead and facilitate Vieth
Institute team meetings, ensuring clear action steps, and accountability
follow-up. Prepare agendas, track progress on quarterly goals, KPIs, and
recurring reviews of scorecards and people issues. Manage
cross-functional communications to keep the team aligned and informed.
Ensure the team feels connected to purpose, priorities, and results,
while protecting focus time for deep work. Manage and measure team
meeting effectiveness, delegation quality, and execution rhythm,
streamlining systems to reduce friction across the Institute. Manage
systems and reduce friction in operational execution across all colleges
served by the Vieth Institute 4. Marketing, Communication, Fundraising
and Event Management Supervise and execute all marketing and
communication work for the Vieth Institute, including event promotion,
newsletters, alumni emails, and social media Work with the Office of
Marketing and Communication to drive institute thought leadership in
news outlets Manage the fundraising tracking process, including monthly
reporting, sponsorship reporting and promotion, the annual Give
Marquette Day appeal, and receipt of gifts Provide oversight and
management of all major event logistics, ensuring first-class event
details and experiences for guests 5. Support for student impact
initiatives Responsible for the supervision of student employees, which
includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions,
ending the student\'s assignment, etc. Provide strategic support and
oversight of student initiatives, supporting career placement efforts
and overseeing metrics that align impacts with results Strategize with
unit-specific institute leaders around applied learning student
opportunities, including conference trips, case competitions, and the
Real Estate Asset Program (REAP ), ensuring interdisciplinary
participation from students. Provide additional support for student
experience as requested by the leader. 6. Strategic institute
relationship leadership Supervise high-level relationship support with
major donors, employers, alumni and guest speakers Execute on all
aspects of managing the advisory board to the institute Work with
affiliated faculty to ensure institute support of teaching, research and
thought-leadership initiatives that further the institute\'s goal of
establishing national prominence in each area. Drive positive
relationships with key external partners, including industry
organizations, employers, and entities that support the institute\'s
work and mission. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor\'s
degree in Business or institute-specific support area A minimum of 3
years\' experience in commercial real estate or related industry
Strategic planning or project management experience Strong
organizational and communication skills Preferred Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Business development and fundraising experience Department:
