Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Sr. Accountant in our Carson location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.
Job duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares reports of key operational metrics on a timely basis for tracking performance to forecast and budget
Analyzes operational performance in comparison to profit plan and prepares related reports for use by operational personnel
Prepares, analyze and reviews product margins, including DVP Analysis
Prepares month-end general ledger entries.
Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the financial data in the Trial Balance
Responsible for month end processing of ERP system including running all ME reports, closing the current month and opening the new month
Monitors daily ERP interface to Oracle General Ledger and Accounts receivable and trouble-shoots any problems
Calculate and validate CIP (Continuous Improvement Projects) Savings
Manage Fixed Asset from RFA, project accounting, asset tag management, disposition, and preparation of Capital Status Report.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Conducts monthly internal audits (ASATS) in accordance with internal audit procedures and compliance calendar
Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with Company Standards of Business Conduct
Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
+5 years of professional experience in an accounting function
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or other business discipline
Experience working in an aerospace and/or manufacturing environment
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple large projects and interact with all organization levels
Experience working in a Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 controls (SOX) environment and maintaining compliance as defined by SOX
Exceptional written/oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Experience managing multiple complex projects and delivering under tight deadlines and resource constraints.
Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and related computer skills
Familiarity with cost accounting
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to work on site in Carson, California. Remote work not considered.
