The Multidisciplinary Integrated Systems Department (MISD) supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems, Sensors, and Effectors. We lead all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support Raytheon's Land and Air Defense Systems business area from our Fullerton, CA location. Our Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels.
This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
(Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
(Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
(Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
What You Will Do
You will contribute your knowledge of engineering practices and problem-solving in the field of modeling and simulation to analyze work across a wide range of intriguing computational problems related to space-based systems and satellites.
Identifying and instantiating circuit card and subassembly design updates
Some travel to suppliers may be required.
Qualifications You Must Have
Must be pursuing a BS (or higher) degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2026.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Specific majors: Aerospace Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM discipline
Knowledge of data analysis, modeling and simulation, statistics, and various computational techniques for complex multi-variable problems.
Knowledge of STK, MATLAB, or Python
Quick learner and motivated

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
