Senior Designer-Electrical Penetration
As a Senior Designer - Electrical Penetration, you will prepare working plans, detailed drawings and completes mechanical or electrical drawings of complex components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes, frequently using computerized software (e.g., SolidWorks).You are responsible for making engineering computations, writes specifications and adjusts in drawings or specifications. You will verify completed work, checking dimensions, material and quantities to be used. Work at this level generally involves more advanced design/drafting assignments. May provide work guidance and supervision to lower level positions.

Salary: $101,600 - $120,000

Your Challenge:
Creates, develops, and modifies designs to meet customer specs and needs.
Provides detailed drawings using SolidWorks software from sketches, layouts or notes.
Addresses complex design challenges and analyzes technical issues.
Troubleshoots and revises designs based on testing results and customer feedback.
Based on technical experience, suggests design modifications to facilitate improvements in product design, quality and for manufacturing ability.
Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
Verifies completed work, checking dimensions, material and quantities to be used.
May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.
Prepare documents such as assembly procedures, test procedures, installation manuals, etc.
Enters drawing Bill of Materials into ERP System.
Your Expertise:

Knowledgeable in the following technical areas is a plus:

Mechanical Seals
Welding
Brazing
NDE
Electrical Power
Nuclear Power
Equipment programming
Experience working with the following software products is a plus:
Oracle ERP system
MS Office Products: Word, Excel, Project
Strong Oral/written communication and problem-solving skills
Works with minimal direction
Flexibility to perform other duties outside of normal JD such as manufacturing set-up and training.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
6 or more years work experience in similar role
