TheMontana Department of Transportation (MDT)is recruiting for a Utilities Designer / Checker. This position is responsible for providing utility designs for relocation work, assists in the review and implementation of relocation projects, and provides project coordinator for the bureau. Reviews plan packages developed by consultants to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Ensures plans are accurate and CADD files are complied according to standards. Provides technical assistant, training, and direction to MDT employees and consultants. This position reports to the Utility Engineering Supervisor and does not supervise others. Such as 6 years of related experience. This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Knowledge of the principles and practices of utility design. · Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to utility placement and relocation. · Ability to direct, organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
