As a Senior Firmware (or Embedded SW) Engineer, you'll bring your designs from concept to production, shaping the future of our cutting-edge products. Utilize your experience with embedded microprocessors, microcontroller-based systems, and high-speed printed circuit design in a meaningful way. You'll also lead the design and testing of digital and analog control systems for RFID and various other products, ensuring optimal performance. Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in Holtsville, NY office (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).
Responsibilities:
Hardware Bring-Up: Be the first person to power on new hardware, develop initial test code to validate functionality and diagnose manufacturing or design defects. Create firmware for proto@type and test fixture development.
Driver Development: Write low-level drivers in C/C++ for peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, ADCs, and DACs, directly interfacing with hardware registers. Create firmware architecture for targeted embedded systems such as STM32 and Blackfin DSPs. Create firmware release based on updates, debugging and testing.
BSP Creation: Develop and maintain the Board Support Package for our custom hardware, providing a stable software layer for the application team.
Collaboration with Hardware Team: Work closely with PCB designers and electrical engineers during the design phase to ensure the hardware design is firmware-friendly and meets all system requirements. Analyze designs to designate necessary equipment to collect data. Synthesize experimental tests and evaluate setup/results
Debugging: Use lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers, to identify and solve complex issues that span both hardware and software.
Documentation: Creating relevant procedures and necessary documentation. Code maintenance on GitHub and ClearCase.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
8+ years of engineering
Embedded Software Firmware Development experience
Experience with C++ and Python
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred
Proven record of successful project contributions
Strong participation in architecture and platform development
Experience with a variety of common digital interfaces at the PHY level, including RS232, USB, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, SDIO, etc.
Experience with the constraints imposed on battery operated systems
Manufacturing and cross-functional team interaction and support for product development
Expert in the use of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Regulatory testing for non-RF requirements, debugging and standards support
Basic knowledge in wireless communications
Broad knowledge of modern digital systems
Strong system knowledge
Capable of reading/understanding schematic captures
Research and Development experience
Publications, patents
Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills

Salary: USD 120400.00 - USD 180600.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
