GENERAL PURPOSE: Preflight and prepare electronic files for high resolution output including: assembly, color correcting, retouching, color separation and trapping using programs such as Adobe CC. Inspect outgoing contract proofs to ensure they meet department quality guidelines before releasing. Maintain equipment used in Prepress Department. Monitor output for correct calibration and make adjustments as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

\u2022 Ensures final product leaving department meets quality standards prior to being released to other departments (and/or) customer.

\u2022 Preflights / prepares electronic files for output.

\u2022 Refines, traps and inspects files.

\u2022 Imposes files.

\u2022 Outputs and inspects for accuracy and quality.

\u2022 Organizes output for next department.

\u2022 Checks equipment for calibration.

\u2022 Maintains equipment as needed.

\u2022 Loads raw materials into output devices.

\u2022 Performs other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

\u2022 Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.

\u2022 Must have minimum of 2 years\u2019 prepress production experience required.

\u2022 Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, including the demonstration of tact, sensitivity, and professionalism.

\u2022 Must have knowledge of printing terminology and practices.

\u2022 Must be able to maintain good attendance.

\u2022 Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

\u2022 Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

\u2022 Must have basic computer skills (email, word processing, etc.).

\u2022 Must have strong skills in Adobe CC.

\u2022 Must have knowledge in Automation Engine or equivalent workflow.

\u2022 Must have strong color correcting skills.

\u2022 Must have strong quality inspection skills.

\u2022 Must pass color vision test.

\u2022 Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.

\u2022 Must be able to maintain good attendance.

\u2022 Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
