Description We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This contract position offers flexibility, allowing you to manage your schedule while providing essential support in criminal defense and personal injury cases. The role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in legal procedures and a dedication to delivering high-quality assistance.

Responsibilities:

Manage e-filing and court filings for various cases, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Provide support in criminal defense and personal injury litigation, assisting in case preparation and documentation.

Coordinate and maintain schedules, including calendar management for attorneys and court appearances.

Prepare and organize legal documents, ensuring compliance with court requirements.

Conduct legal research to support case development and strategy.

Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court officials to facilitate case progress.

Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal correspondence as needed.

Ensure proper filing and organization of case files for easy access and retrieval.

Monitor deadlines and follow up on pending tasks to ensure timely completion.

Support attorneys in trial preparation and other critical legal processes. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a detail-oriented legal environment.

Proficiency in e-filing and handling court filings for legal cases.

Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and criminal defense procedures.

Experience managing calendars and schedules for attorneys.

Familiarity with personal injury plaintiff cases and related legal documentation.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to work independently and adapt to a flexible schedule.
