You will serve as a CRANE OPERATOR in the LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
Duties
Help
You will follow and comprehend crane capacity charts and understand the computer Load Movement Indicator (LMI).
You will work in areas outside the line of vision and accurately operate machinery with direction from hand signals or high power radios.
You will operate Bridge Cranes, Westmont Portal Cranes, Craft SCR and Point Control Portal Cranes, Samsung Portal Cranes, AM Clyde Portal Cranes, AT/RT Mobile Cranes, Dual Engine Truck Cranes, and Floating Cranes.
You will closely observe operating techniques, safety factors, and comprehend the characteristics of weight lifting equipment.
You will properly operate various cranes and equipment, and consider the safest movement of load, clearances along the route, and safety of personnel and equipment.
You will work in areas outside of their line of vision and accurately operate with direction from hand signals or high power radios.
You will complete pre-operational checks and assignments with no more than normal supervision.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Category 1 Crane Operator's license per NAVFAC P307 to operate all TRF Bridge Cranes, Portal cranes and Mobile Cranes.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Work requires considerable climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, and sitting.
Work requires operation of boom cranes outside in enclosed or partially enclosed cabs in all @types of weather.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
