Power : Are you well versed in High Voltage Power and its application in urban transit? Do you have expertise in working with substations, switchgear, circuit breakers, and other associated equipment? Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education
Associate'sdegreeorvocationalortechnicalschooldegreeinElectrical,Electronic,Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum Experience
Aminimumoffour(4)yearsofexperienceinSignaling,Automatic TrainControl, Communications, or Power related job roles, individually or collectively
Must include one (1) year of previous experience formally or informally delivering training, mentoring,orcoachingtoemployeesfocused on skills development, on-the-job or classroom training.
Minimum Certification/Licensure
Avaliddriver's licenseandmustmaintainitwhileinthisjob.
RWP Level 2 certification must be acquired within 3 months of hire date and be maintained whilein this job.

Summary
The Systems Training Instructor is responsible for the development, implementation, and presentation of required training courses in one or more areas, including Signaling and Automatic Train Control Systems, Radio Communications, Field Communications, Power, and Automatic Fare Collection/Parking Lot Equipment. The incumbent provides classroom instructor-led training, initiates hands-on scenarios, and evaluates student progress throughout the classes and training program(s).
Essential Functions
Principal Job Duties
Develops,implements,andmaintainstraining classesandprograms forPower,Communications, AutomaticFareCollectioncraftemployeesandreviewstraining asnecessaryto ensure that training curriculum is current with WMATA procedures.
Conductsclassroomandpracticalmaintenancetrainingforalltechnicalandsupervisory personnel to ensure students receive all information relating to their craft.
Evaluates student performance, ensures that employees have successfully completed the requiredtrainingprograms, andverifiesemployees arequalifiedtooperatespecific equipment relating to their assigned duties.
Consultswithsupervisory-levelpersonnel,determiningtheeffectivenessofemployeetraining, ensuresthatprescribedmaintenanceproceduresremaincompliant withAuthorityandindustry regulations, and makes appropriate recommendations for training program modifications.
Maintainscurrentknowledge ofmodifications,changes, andredesignofSystemsequipment and implements these changes into the training program in a timely manner, to ensure trainers are qualified and current on course material.
Uses a multi-facetted training approach that may include, but not limited to, lecture, demonstration,andcomputer-basedmaterials,hands-onexercises,mock-ups, visualaids,and student testing. May be required to prepare and present oral/written reports.
Maintainstrainingaids,charts,viewgraphs,presentations,equipmentsimulators,andmock-ups for classroom use. Coordinates specialized training locations, times, scheduling, and manages enrollment capacity.
Developsandproctors promotionaltestsandreferencematerials forCommunications,Signaling, Automatic Fare Collection/Parking Lot Equipment, and Power personnel.
Supervises trainees¿ "on-the-job" performance including ensuring compliance with WMATA directives,StandardOperatingProcedures,SafetyandOperating Rules,Timeaccountability,and Complaint Resolution. May recommend trainees for commendations or disciplinary action as appropriate.
Assistsinothertrainingprograms whereoverlaporintersectionoccurs. Researchesandprepares technical and administrative reports in support of training operations.
Other Duties
Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions. Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concernsconsistentwithourAgency SafetyPlan,otherregulatoryrequirementswithintheSafety Management System and just culture principles.
