We are seeking a Thermal Systems Simulation Engineer to join our team and contribute to advanced vehicle development initiatives. This role focuses on creating high-fidelity thermal system models to optimize fuel economy and vehicle performance across diverse mission profiles.

Responsibilities

Develop high-fidelity 1-D thermal system and component-level models to support fuel economy and vehicle performance assessments.

Perform model correlation and validation against physical test data to ensure simulation accuracy and predictive capability.

Assess vehicle performance and thermal system robustness over a wide range of mission profiles and duty cycles.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret simulation results and provide actionable insights.

Clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Skills

Minimum 4 years in 1-D thermal system, hydraulic system, and component-level thermal simulation.

Minimum 2 years working with automotive OEMs.

Extensive experience using 1-D thermal simulation software, preferably GT-Suite, for vehicle and propulsion system development.

Foundational knowledge of electrified propulsion system components, including electric motors, power conversion systems, high-voltage batteries, engines, transmissions, charging electronics, and control systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role based in Superior Township, MI. The work environment is collaborative, with cross-functional engineering teams, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge vehicle technologies and electrified propulsion systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
