Join a vital financial operations team supporting Louisiana's transition of SNAP and DDS accounts from DCFS to LDH. In this role, you will lead high-volume bank reconciliation for multiple program accounts, including DDS vendor payments, SSA-tracked reimbursements, EBT/EFT transactions for SNAP, and FRU-related recovery deposits. As an Accountant 1-3, you will ensure accurate and timely alignment of transactions across LaGov, SSA systems, and multiple financial institutions. This is a key opportunity to strengthen federal compliance, safeguard internal controls, and contribute to critical statewide services.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs monthly and ad hoc reconciliations of SNAP, DDS, DDU, and FRU bank accounts in coordination with the LDH Treasury Section and externa partners (SSA, INMAR, Conduent). Investigates discrepancies, reviews outstanding items, and prepares adjusting entries or error corrections as necessary.
Ensures appropriate linkage between check issuance (DDS, DDU) and bank clearing activity. Reviews SSA interface files, SNAP STEP/IE reports, and vendor payment logs to validate payment activity against bank statements. Coordinates with payment teams to resolve timing and funding issues.
Assists in establish ng and documenting internal control processes for newly assumed LDH-managed bank accounts. Helps develop and maintain SOPs for bank reconciliation on procedures, PO box transitions, and handling of legacy DCFS transactions.
Prepares and submit monthly reconciliation on reports to supervisory staff, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions. Ensures that reconciliations meet state fiscal policy and audit standards.
Serves as liaison with program staff and fiscal intermediaries for bank related inquiries. Provides documentation for auditors, leadership, and cost allocation teams related to cash flow and reconciliations.

Accountant 3 - $26.50 hr / $2,120.00 bi-weekly
