Summary You will serve as a DATA SCIENTIST in the NAVAL AUDIT SERVICE (NAVAUDSVC) of NAVAUDGEN. Responsibilities You will consult internal auditors to provide analytical solutions to make the auditors more productive and/or value added. You will serve as the authority for analysis of research data to evaluate how computer programs determine the desired selection, analytical and statistical computations, analyses, and acceptable output formatting based on constraints. You will design, plan programs and projects, as well as recommend additions or modifications to existing hardware, software, and date architecture to support the audit mission. You will maintain and provide awareness to senior leadership and agency staff on industry best practices related to data science and analytics. You will analyze complex data elements and systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships in order to contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience using Statistical analysis, probability theory, and linear algebra to build accurate models and interpreting results. Demonstrated understanding of data architecture, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, how to maintain cleanse and integrate data in various formats across various applications while maintaining data integrity. Experience using and implementing programming languages and software to identify improvements for data reliability and drive efficiencies and data quality. Experience developing and/or analyzing complex data sets, dependencies, and relationships for conceptual physical and logical data models.
