About the Role:

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students in grades K-12. This role requires a strong commitment to team participation in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.

As an EC Adaptive Teacher , you will work with students who have significant disabilities or unique learning needs, focusing on adapting curriculum, instruction, and environments so they can access education effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and adaptive instruction aligned with IEP goals.

Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive practices.

Provide tutorial assistance and specialized interventions.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to program planning.

Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid NC teaching certificate (EC license required).

Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

State Teacher Certification: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred).

Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.

Current CPR certification (if applicable).

TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).

Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
