Job Title: Automotive Mechanic

Job Description

The primary duties of the Automotive Mechanic include performing predictive and preventive maintenance work and overhauling various engines, transmissions, differentials, steering systems, brakes, automotive vehicles, and light trucks using testing and diagnostic instruments. This role involves inspecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical malfunctions in automotive vehicles, light trucks, and various heavy-duty, portable, and stationary engines. The mechanic is responsible for repairing or replacing defective or worn parts and accessories, which may require the use of acetylene or arc welding equipment. This position offers the potential for promotion to Equipment Mechanic, contingent upon meeting the minimum qualifications and possession of a California Class A Driver's License with air brake endorsement.

Responsibilities

Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on engines, transmissions, differentials, steering systems, and brakes.

Overhaul automotive vehicles and light trucks using testing and diagnostic instruments.

Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions in vehicles and engines.

Repair or replace defective or worn parts and accessories.

Utilize acetylene or arc welding equipment as necessary.

Essential Skills

Diagnosis and automotive repair experience.

Ability to perform preventive maintenance.

Experience with diagnostic testing and automotive service.

Proficiency in servicing and repairing air conditioning systems.

Experience with Ford F150 vehicles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with stationary fuel pumps, steam cleaners, and high-pressure washers.

This is a Contract position based out of Five Points, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
