About the role
Trustmark is looking for an experienced Director, B2B Marketing to join the team.
Lead the integrated marketing strategy for Trustmark Small Business Benefits (SBB) across broker and employer/employee audiences. Partner closely with Sales and Client Management to set strategy and provide direction for-and hands on execution of-campaigns that grow SBB market share. Drive MQL generation and nurturing, collaborate directly with outside brokers on sales requests and promotions, and set the creative strategy for broker and employer marketing initiatives. Oversee proactive, producer supporting campaigns and employer/employee communications that educate, engage, and convert. Manage the SBB marketing team to ensure our website, portals, and microsites are on strategy and up to date; establish the annual editorial, marketing, and social calendars; and lead content development for sales initiatives, social, and the SBB blog. Build, manage, and execute the strategy for high impact broker engagement programs and employer engagement series/events that advance growth objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategy & Planning
Own the integrated SBB marketing strategy spanning broker (B2B) and employer/employee (B2B2C) channels; align plans with Sales, Product, Operations, and Client Management.
Develop annual editorial, content, and social calendars; set campaign objectives tied to pipeline and revenue.
Demand Generation & Campaigns
Set MQL goals and lead omnichannel demand programs (email, paid social, search, content syndication, webinars/events, ABM) to fill and accelerate the top of funnel.
Partner with Sales leadership to prioritize IMQ-friendly brokers; support expansion in MGA and national accounts through co-hosted broker events and targeted outreach.
Create proactive producer campaigns, playbooks, and nurture flows that equip brokers and stimulate quoting activity.
Oversee optimal use of Microsoft Dynamics Insights.
Employer & Employee Communications
Lead employer decision-maker marketing (HR/benefits leaders): positioning, proof points, and sales enablement.
Direct pre-communication and enrollment-support programs that improve the employee experience (digital, email, SMS, collateral, video, decision-support tools, landing pages, and website content).
Ensure campaign content translates product advantages into clear, compliant benefits messaging that drives participation.
Insights, Measurement, and Optimization
Define KPIs for lead generation, broker engagement, employer campaign performance, enrollment lift, and digital effectiveness; establish dashboards and review cadences.
Use analytics to track, report, and continuously improve campaign outcomes and ROI.
Digital, Web, and Content
Ensure website and related portals/microsites reflect strategy, are accurate, SEO optimized, and updated on a defined cadence.
Set creative direction; write and/or direct content for sales initiatives, social, and the SBB blog; maintain brand voice and standards.
Programs & Events
Lead broker engagement programs (e.g., tiered VIP frameworks) and producer events that deepen relationships and drive growth.
Design employer engagement series (virtual and in person) in partnership with Sales and Client Management.
Measurement and Data Analytics:
Help drive key measurement and goals, working closely with data analytics, tracking and reporting, as required, for all aspects of broker/employer/lead generation web/social media.
Minimum Requirements:
Six to ten years of marketing, communications, and business experience in B2B or B2C, or relevant experience.
Interpersonal skills, including the ability to easily develop, build and maintain internal and external relationships.
Strong oral communication skills and polished presentation skills both in-person and via online method.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to direct CRM initiatives.
Proven experience with online marketing, including social media in business and the ability to stay current with emerging programs.
Proven writing and business communications skills.
Ability to manage and mentor a team.
Ability to develop colleagues understanding of departmental interdependencies and processes, as well as insurance concepts.
Have or be able to quickly gain a thorough understanding of products and services offered.
Willingness to acknowledge inquiries and be responsive/ proactive with current project requests and status.
Clear understanding of integrated marketing and sales concepts.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, or Communications.
The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$90,107.00 - $130,156.00 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus.
