Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The nursing program at Iowa State University is hiring a part-time Lecturer to develop and teach an undergraduate-level Nursing Global Health course in spring 2026 for the RN-to-BSN curriculum.
The Lecturer will be responsible, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing Education and nursing faculty, to develop the course content. This will include modules, readings, multimedia resources, assessments, and discussion prompts; and incorporation of current global health data, case studies, and policy frameworks. In alignment with the overall curriculum, all content will integrate Open Educational Resources (OER) and other accessible materials to maintain 100% OER resources, ensure content relevancy, and promote student-centered learning that adapts to a wide range of student needs and experiences.
The Lecturer will be the instructor of record for the course offered via a hybrid approach (on campus and online) in the spring 2026 semester (Jan 20 - May 15). It is expected that the Lecturer will participate in course review and revision based on feedback and evaluation metrics, meet project deadlines and maintain regular communication with the course development team.
To ensure adequate time for course preparation, this position has an anticipated start date in early December 2025.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship . Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Global Health, or a related field.
Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Demonstrated experience in global health, nursing education, or related practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
Familiarity with OER and hybrid teaching formats.
Commitment to inclusive and learner-responsive pedagogy.
Knowledge of global health systems, social determinants of health, and culturally grounded care.
Experience working in international or cross-cultural healthcare settings.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Department/Program & College Description:
Food Science and Human Nutrition is a comprehensive academic program with undergraduate majors in dietetics, nutritional science, food science, culinary food science, and nursing. The department is supported by the College of Human Sciences and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Our graduate programs include MS and Ph.D. options in both Nutritional Sciences and Food Science and Technology, concurrent BS/MS in Diet and Exercise, and BS in Food Science/MBA as well as an online Master in Dietetics.
