The Fundraising Marketing Manager position exists to provide strategic direction and oversight of fundraising for Focus on the Family. This position will be responsible for implementing fundraising efforts for Focus on the Family. The Fundraising Marketing Manager position will also provide support and direction to marketing partners or consultants and as directed by the Director.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Works together with the Sustainer team to achieve revenue goals, plus innovates, tests, and implements new strategies to grow revenue
Is responsible for implementation of the fiscal year fundraising plan and administration and allocation of the budget to support the plan
Is responsible for managing the annual budgeting process in preparation for the new fiscal year in collaboration with the Director
Collaborates with Director to achieve all non-sustainer scorecard goals that include Income and Expenses. Donor file health that is made up of Retained donors, New and Converted donors, and Regained donors
Manages new donor acquisition and retention programs through direct mail as well as all email, web, TV, and radio efforts in collaboration with the Director
Plans and manages year-end fundraising plan and coordinates closely with the Director
Monitors and tracks fundraising protocol and documents/reports on protocol breaches
Works closely with senior management in the implementation of Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) projects across the ministry as it relates to the donor's lifetime value
Manages the creative and approval process for constituent Newsletters, appeals, lapsed mailings, and acquisition mailings
Works to educate areas of the ministry on principles of fundraising and to ensure that we keep our fundraising principles that are foundational to Focus on the Family
Manages the budget, revenue, and execution for the ministry's monthly newsletter and appeal.
Manages the direct marketing cultivation tracks for new constituents to the ministry to make sure that contacts are appropriate to their profile
Identifies new fundraising opportunities and develops recommendations for implementation
Represents marketing in various meetings and provides strategic marketing input throughout the ministry
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Takes the lead in coordinating and managing special high-profile projects as directed by the Director
Grooms and trains staff (when those positions become available) in preparation for having them advance and handle additional responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or with equivalent experience
5-7 years of experience in Direct Marketing, Fundraising, or advertising
2-5 years of direct experience in fundraising for non-profits with a proven track record of success
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
Have a marketing "sense" to help craft fundraising appeals that illicit strong response
Understanding of database marketing strategies and techniques
Experience and knowledge in the creative process
Understanding of Constituent Research Management (CRM)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to operate well in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently
Budget development experience
Strong production and scheduling planning
Working knowledge of financial reports
Exceptional analytical ability and logical through process to deal with complex problems
Attention to detail and accuracy
Stewardship Requirements:
Plays a direct and critical role in the team's role of generating $24 million in revenue and combined teams' goal of $48 million year over year.
Pay Range: $70,720 to $81,120
