Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Aquaculture, Freshwater, or Marine Scientist for our Ecological and Biological Sciences Practice in our Natick, MA office. Position locations in Bellevue, WA, Menlo Park, CA, Pasadena, CA or Philadelphia, PA offices will also be considered. In this role you will work as part of a team to provide technical support on existing projects and business development efforts in the Ecological & Biological Sciences Practice.
You will be responsible for
Understanding and interpreting complex aquaculture business dynamics including government regulations, operational performance, environmental monitoring, site infrastructure, and production processes
Analyzing and preparing regulatory documents and reports
Strategic business development and client networking in a team environment with the aim to grow a broad range of science and engineering technical services globally in the aquaculture and seafood sector
Synthesizing technical information and applying creative and critical thinking to prepare and review reports and technical presentations
Developing and maintaining professional status by authoring peer-reviewed publications, and participation in technical conferences and activities of professional societies
Managing projects and working cooperatively on projects with other members of the Practice and interdisciplinary groups from other Exponent practices as appropriate
You will have the following skills and qualifications
Ph.D. in Aquaculture, Freshwater Sciences, Marine Sciences, Applied Ecology, or another related field
Knowledge of coastal, marine, and freshwater ecosystems
Working knowledge of commercial fishing and seafood production practices
Strong understanding of scientific sampling methodologies and the state-of-science on a broad range of aquatic ecosystem, fisheries, wildlife, and water quality issues
Experience with data analysis and statistics
Experience managing tasks and projects of moderate scope and complexity
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines, and communicate within multidisciplinary teams
Demonstrated ability in written and oral communications
Strong commitment to personal development
