Description

Seeking a part-time Bookkeeper (20 hours/week) to manage financial and business operations, including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, banking, internal controls, and compliance with Diocesan, Episcopal Church, and IRS regulations. This will be for about 3 months and is paying $24/hr. This role works closely with the Rector, Treasurer, Day School Director, and ministry leaders to maintain transparency and accuracy in financial reporting, stewardship, grants management, and human resources. The Bookkeeper will prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, oversee contributions and pledge acknowledgements, assist with audits and reporting, and support parish programs and projects. Regular hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., with additional flexible hours as agreed.

Requirements - Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a strong understanding of financial principles.

Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing financial records and transactions.

Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Skilled in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports.

Knowledge of compliance requirements within organizational or church settings.

Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining financial accuracy.
