Position: Academic Advisement Coordinator

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Registration and Records

Reports to: Director of Registration and Records

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary advisor for applicants to competitive health programs.

Develop and coordinate the academic advisement program to ensure that students at all locations have access to academic advisors via email.

Assess diverse needs of students who use the advising services and adjust the structure of the program to address those needs.

Assess the effectiveness of the academic advisement program and implement procedures to correct identified deficiencies and problems.

Recommend procedural changes for academic advisement issues.

Develop and prepare advising materials, such as brochures, handouts, general information summaries advisor manuals, and training documents and ensures that the advisement website documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Perform other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of work experience.

Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

Two (2) years' experience with student academic advising including BANNER and Degree Works.

Financial aid knowledge.
