This is an opportunity for basic research discovery in biomedical engineering, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, as well as for translation of promising technologies into clinical trials and ultimately to improve the lives of patients. The successful candidate will serve as co-director of the Microsurgery and Regenerative Medicine Lab (MSRM). The MSRM has a research theme of clinical and experimental microsurgery, with an emphasis on peripheral nerve regeneration and repair. The UW Department of Surgery consists of more than 160 faculty across eleven specialty divisions, performing more than 25,000 operations annually. The Department also trains more than 70 residents and fellows and is consistently ranked amongst the top surgery programs with extramural research funding, currently 7th in the nation according to Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.
