Deputy Director of Finance

KEY FOCUS AREAS INCLUDE: Overseeing accounting, budgeting, payroll, billing, and cash management functions Advising administration and County leadership on financial performance and strategies Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders Maintaining internal controls and audit readiness across all financial operations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Directs and coordinates all financial activities of CNR, including accounting, budgeting, and data processing Oversees third-party billing to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance providers Develops and monitors procedures to maximize reimbursement and ensure accurate claims Prepares monthly and annual financial statements, reports, and forecasts Advises CNR administration on fiscal policies, budgets, and long-term financial planning Maintains internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with audit standards Monitors cash flow, manages investments, and implements effective cash management practices Oversees payroll processing and ensures accuracy and completeness of all employee records Supervises and trains accounting and clerical staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team Represents CNR in financial matters with County, State, and Federal agencies Forecasts the financial impact of reimbursement formula changes and regulatory updates Manages purchasing, inventory tracking, and departmental budgeting activities

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES Thorough knowledge of modern accounting, fiscal management, and auditing practices Strong understanding of healthcare billing, reimbursement, and cost reporting Experience in financial operations within a nursing home, long-term care, or healthcare setting Ability to analyze complex data and prepare clear, accurate financial reports Skilled in supervising staff, establishing goals, and evaluating performance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with leadership, auditors, and regulators High level of integrity, sound judgment, and resourcefulness in problem-solving Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheet analysis, and data management tools

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Possession of a Masters degree in accounting, business administration, economics, or a closely related field, with the successful completion of 18 credit hours in accounting; or Possession of a Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, economics, or a closely related field, with the successful completion of 18 credit hours in accounting. A minimum of three years of full-time paid accounting experience in healthcare finance, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, and reimbursement, including third-party insurance billing, budget preparation, or financial reporting Experience must include work with double-entry and accrual accounting systems.

Salary: $115,000-125,000

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package
