JOB SUMMARY:

The Sensory Technician is responsible for the coordination, organization and maintenance of the Sensory Lab, and for administrating expert sensory panels and sensory activities. The Sensory Technician creates a safe and efficient workspace and is the main point of contact for Sensory Panel Assistants during expert sensory panels.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure lab cleanliness and compliance to all relevant Nestle standards and required documentation

Maintain well organized lab and storage spaces using 5S principles

Ensure Sensory equipment is maintained and calibrated

Maintain inventory of Sensory Lab materials and supplies

Manage sensory product receipt, storage and inventory

Assist Panel Leaders with sensory test creation in sensory software and launch IT sensory sessions

Administer sensory tests, including sample preparation and presentation

Communicate panel instructions to Sensory Panel Assistants before, during, and after experts sensory panels

Assist Consumer Sensory Insight Specialists and Panel Leaders with sensory training, sensory glossary development, panelist screening, and other sensory related activities as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):

High School degree required, technical training preferred

Experience in laboratory is preferred either in a classroom or work environment

Software knowledge: EyeQuestion, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Strong computer skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Able to work well in a team environment

Flexible work hours, as required by the business

A collaborative attitude, enjoys working with, learning from and sharing knowledge with others
