De velop, administer, and deliver academic support services and programs to promote student success.
Consult with leadership, faculty, and student services and support staff to determine academic support needs.
Develop and implement academic support services and programs in alignment with best practices as supported by data and identified needs of the institution.
Collaborate with faculty to arrange and coordinate study groups and other services to supplement classroom instruction.
Act as the lead person for Navigate 360 and its functionality, campaigns, automations.
Oversee the coordination, implementation, and assessment of online learning support for the college.
Coordinate and administer overall proctoring services for the college.
Coordinate coverage of and train Help Desk staff.
Develop, maintain, and disseminate promotional and informational materials to students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.
Evaluate student outcomes, compile data and prepare accurate and informative reports.
Pr ovide academic resources, tutoring, captioning, and proctoring services to help students reach their educational goals.
Collaborate and meet with students and advisors on a regular basis to monitor academic progress and assist in the students' development of educational goals, and academic success strategies through proactive outreach.
Respond to student concerns then triage next steps with a success team including; academic, personal, conduct, etc.
Assess and meet individual student and target group needs by understanding and supporting college-wide services, policies and procedures and community resources, when appropriate, to include referrals to campus and community resources.
Troubleshoot conflict among the department and with students negotiating solutions.
Facilitate department meetings.
Train department staff and coordinate scheduling and coverage for all services.
Recruit, hire and supervise student workers.
Pe rform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the college and maintain the reputation of the college as a viable community partner.
Serve on Academic Appeals Committee.
Salary Range:
$25.67 - $37.26 per hour
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of professional experience supporting student or academic affairs, or adult developmental education. A bachelor's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience, an associate's degree may substitute for 6 months experience.
Demonstrate decision making skills along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with others to successfully meet project and/or campus goals.
Demonstrate knowledge of best practices and understanding of educating high-risk students from diverse backgrounds, academic retention activities, and student academic advisement.
Demonstrate ability to interpret and apply federal, state, system, and college regulations or policies consistently but fairly dictated by individual student or group situations.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including training/teaching skills and conflict management.
Ability to work both independently and work effectively in a team environment and with other departments.
Proficient with a variety of word processing, database and web-based applications sufficient to accurately collect data and create reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Two years of professional level experience in interpreting college policies and procedures which support academic or career advising in a post-secondary setting, student or academic affairs, or adult developmental education.
Experience using student record systems such as ISRS and data and communication tools like EPM11 or Power BI, etc.
Familiarity with Desire 2 Learn, and other academic technology.
Experience with project development, execution, and management.
Knowledge of private data practices and FERPA.
Valid driver's license to conform to Minnesota State vehicle use criteria and consent to a motor vehicle records check.
Knowledge of Minnesota West Community and Technical College academic programs and requirements and their direct relationship to admissions.
Familiarity with Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
