DEED is committed to radically increasing economic impacts for individuals and businesses that face systematic barriers to growth. The Project and Grant Management Assistant will aid in the development of various projects and grants in the Youth Development Division. The position will assist grant managers with management of Direct Appropriation grants and other state and federal programs. In addition, this position will assist with preparing reports for key stakeholders, financial documents related to grant expenditures, funding and grant contracting processes, and other responsibilities related to administration of youth grants.

Assist with tracking, and recording of grants and grant expenditures

Assist with program data collection and its evaluation and analysis
Assist in Request for Proposals process for funding issued by DEED/Office of Youth Development
ConductotherdutiesassistinginthedevelopmentoftheDEEDandEmploymentandTrainingPrograms (ETP) youth programs
Becomeknowledgeableonrelatedyouthemploymenttopics, bestpractices,andgrantsmanagement
Provide formal and informal project updates to the Youth Development team on a regular basis
This is a limited unclassified position and may be used to fill multiple positions.
The initial appointment is for one (1) year with the option to extend two (2) additional years if funding remains available and student requirements are met.

To be eligible for an appointment as a Student Worker Para Professional Senior, you must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program and have completed at least two (2) years of post-secondary education. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment. See additional requirements below for further details on Student Worker positions.
Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:
Pursuingadegree in:Economics,Education,UrbanPlanning,CommunityDevelopment,PoliticalScience, Public Policy, English,orother closely related field as determined by the agency
Skill in computer application software such as MicrosoftOffice Suite,includingWord, PowerPoint,and Excel
Communication skills sufficient to communicate with internal staff, external customers, grantmaking institutions, and other state agencies
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with data management, and data analysis
Problem solving skills sufficient to search for alternative solutions and/or make recommendation

Requirements for Student Worker positions:
To be eligible for an appointment as a Student Worker Para Professional Senior, you must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program and have completed at least two (2) years of post-secondary education. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one (1) semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one (1) semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution, you must carry at least six (6) semester/ nine (9) quarter credits. If you are enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one (1) that only offers one (1) credit per class, you must be taking two (2) or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load will be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two (2) courses or making progress on a dissertation.
