Position: Electrical Engineering Co-op
Department: Medical & Clean Manufacturing (MCM)
Start Date: Spring Term 2026

RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Site visits to gather field information as required.
Perform engineering calculations.
Develop and update Excel spreadsheets for document preparation.
Participate in company meetings, providing analysis, input, and recommendations.
Assists in the development and maintenance of project schedules.
Report writing.
Develop schedule to manage workload across assigned activities to achieve deadlines.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or similar area of study.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of engineering design software preferred (e.g. AutoCad, Revit or similar).
Completion of two years of college coursework preferred.
Relevant coursework and/or knowledge of power systems engineering (power & lighting) and low voltage systems preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to adapt to changing work demands and priorities.
Displays professional engineering ethics and complies with KFI policies and procedures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
Organized and able to manage time effectively.
Ability and willingness to travel if needed.
Working Conditions
Occasionally, some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.
PREVIOUS STUDENT PROJECTS
Developed interactive Power BI dashboards with custom CAD-based maps to visualize and analyze building conversions from steam to hot water, enabling scenario planning, capital and energy forecasting, emissions analysis, and phased infrastructure tracking to improve decision-making and engagement.
Performed in-depth analysis of actual heat loads in MCC rooms to understand cooling system design and efficiency and identify potential improvement areas.
Designed and conducted a long-range Utility Study that included project planning, analysis and review of recommendations with customers.
Conducted an extensive energy modeling study for a new h
