Summary The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), South Central Veterans Health Care System, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 16), , Facility Management, North Little Rock, Arkansas. The primary reasons for this position are to supervise the performance of and perform duties related to Fleet Management, Transportation Services, and Engineering Equipment Operations, to include Bulk Fuel and GSA Equipment Short-Term Rental Program Responsibilities Duties: Plans, directs, and evaluates staff performance, training needs, recommend promotions and discipline. Sets goals, assigns work, and provides training and counseling. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation). Responsible for ensuring that proper maintenance (and associated records) are kept on all vehicles and pieces of equipment assigned to the Equipment Repair Unit Supervises Motor Vehicle Operators and manages schedules. Perform all operations in a safe and efficient manner to maintain maximum efficiency. Operates platform, van, stake and dump trucks, passenger shuttle (bus up to 44 passengers), and cargo vans which have a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 10,000 pounds and up to 28,000 pounds Transport patients for medical appointments using van, wheelchair van, sedans and other appropriate vehicles. Ensure that proper procedures, safety rules and regulations are being followed. Manages GSA Fleet Vehicle Program, including assignments, maintenance, disposal, and reporting. Administers driver training and ensures environmental compliance. Specialized experience includes: Experience Managing/ assisting with fleet and transportation operations such as monitoring vehicle utilization, maintenance, and fuel usage; coordinating repairs and vendor services. Experience maintaining fleet records. Experience utilizing automated systems such as MAXIMO, GSA Drive Thru, or Microsoft Office Suite to prepare reports and track data. Experience providing technical guidance, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, and supervising staff involved in vehicle or equipment operations.
