Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a motivated Entry-Level Design Engineer to join our growing Bridges & Structures team in Rochester, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to start your career with a nationally recognized firm that's shaping the future of transportation infrastructure.

As part of our Bridges & Structures group, you'll collaborate with a team of passionate professionals who design innovative, efficient, and sustainable bridge solutions. From concept to completion, our experts partner closely with clients to deliver projects that are safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible. You'll gain hands-on experience across all phases of bridge design - from scoping and planning to preliminary and final engineering - and work on projects that range from small community crossings to large, complex structures that move people and economies forward. Responsibilities

Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in bridge engineering.

Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.

Demonstrate the ability to prepare general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.

Perform structural calculations on a particular part of a project under direction of supervisor.

Assist with other project related tasks such as structural inspections, report writing, permit applications, and CAD work.

Exercise judgment on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.

Work within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects.

Apply awareness of structural codes (AASHTO, AISC, ACI, ASCE-7, IBC) to designs.

Perform basic concrete and steel design for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and miscellaneous highway related structures.

Utilize structural software at a basic level (MathCAD, Enercalc, Midas, STAAD, etc.).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.

Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification is preferred.

Increasing proficiency with Civil 3D and MicroStation CAD software is preferred.

Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge.

Ability to effectively collaborate and contribute as part of a team.

Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $71,677 to $78,850 per year (depending on qualifications)
