We operate in Canada as Engineered Lifting Systems and Equipment (ELS)/DBA Gorbel Canada, and subsequent communication related to Canadian positions may show the ELS name. Work Shift:Job Description:Work with Manufacturing Engineer to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods. Utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts and fabrication processes, design, document and create production aids, jigs and fixtures. Gain knowledge of tooling and production equipment and their capabilities, then assist with maintenance, upgrades or replacement needs. Develop familiarity with assembly methods, lean manufacturing and quality control standards to assist with improvements in assembly areas. Work alongside engineering staff to capture production data, first pass yield, timing and safety results, to implement tools of continuous improvement.RESPONSIBILITIES:Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment for maximum efficiencyDevelop and implement recommendations for tool redesign changes of materials, methods, etc.Research manufacturing trends, new technology and recommends improvementsInvestigate manufacturing problems and recommends solutionsFacilitate Lean Manufacturing initiatives in all manufacturing facilities, participate in continuous improvement projectsInvestigate and prepare requests for capital improvementsReview Health, Safety and EnvironmentalPerform various projects as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Enrollment as Engineering or Engineering Technology studentStrong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skillsGood oral and written communication skillsExcellent command of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD (Solidworks and/or AutoCAD) and other computer programAbility to independently move about factory and lift up to 50 poundsWORK ENVIRONMENT:ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace RequirementsOccasional lifting up to 25 lbs.Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of timePrimary work environment is professional corporate officeGorbel is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
