Responsibilities You will diagnose equipment malfunction through the use of system analysis, test equipment, and schematics. You will perform final technical operations and verify that the system, equipment, or component is performing within designated certification parameters. You will operate and analyze equipment/systems to diagnose and isolate discrepancies which cannot be located and corrected through established procedures. You will compile records of system/equipment failures, actions taken, and costs involved to make recommendations in correctly operating the system/equipment and suggest cost savings innovations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying practical knowledge of the theories, principles, and techniques of electronics and the ability to apply this knowledge to the accomplishment of difficult, but well-precedent projects. Experience analyzing engineering literature, procedures and technical drawings. Experience making sound decisions using basic engineering principles. Experience demonstrating the capacity to comprehend and apply measurement practices while working independently and showing linear progression in dealing with problems. A great deal of upper body and arm movements are required. Carrying standards and test equipment is required to move items around for test and calibration. Some travel may be required occasionally to attend meetings, provide technical expertise and gain experience/training. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. May be required to work overtime. May require 2nd and 3rd shift assignment during periods of heavy workload. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
