Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler will work in an industrial shop setting, focusing on the assembly of electrical connectors used in powering electric pumps for oil and gas drilling. This role is crucial as it supports the ramp-up of operations in response to the current high demand for energy.

Responsibilities

Work at an individual workbench in an industrial shop setting.

Strip cables by unwrapping the rubber exterior, using safety gloves, and cutting away insulation.

Measure and cut cables to specifications using hand tools and measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, diagonal cutters, and crimpers.

Perform tasks following engineering blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

Visually inspect work for defects.

Assist with packaging and the breakdown of cable reels.

Follow specific work instructions for cable cutting and assembly.

Essential Skills

Ability to read, write, and speak English well.

Basic math skills, including decimal conversions.

Manual dexterity for wire stripping and assembly.

Ability to stand for 8 hours a day.

Team player with a positive attitude.

Commitment to safety and professionalism.

Excellent attendance record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Entry-level position with potential for conversion to full-time.

Willingness to commit to a 6 to 12-month assignment.

Experience in a shop or assembly setting preferred.

Capable of heavy lifting and exerting physical effort to move carts with heavy cables.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
