Overview
Bowhead seeks a Cloud Architect SME to join our team supporting NIWC Atlantic. The Cloud Architect will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.
The Cloud Architect will: Design, develop, and manage cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and services. Instigate innovative solutions to integrate existing cloud environments in both classified and unclassified spaces. Ensure the smooth functioning of an organization's cloud infrastructure. Work closely with other IT professionals, such as developers, architects, and system administrators, to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions. Migrate applications, optimizes resources, and ensures data security and compliance.
Responsibilities
Design and manage cloud infrastructure.
Leads subsystem or Integrated Product Team (IPT) systems engineering activities across architecture, integration, verification, and digital engineering lifecycle.
Develops and maintains MBSE models, requirements allocations, and KPP tracking.
Conducts trade studies, risk mitigation, and alternatives analysis.
Manages technical documentation including SEMP, SDD, TDP, and CONOPS/CONEMP. Oversees model integration within IME and supports major technical reviews (SRR, CDR, TRR).
Provides technical input to lifecycle sustainment and transition planning.
Evaluate legacy applications and systems to determine viability to be migrated or transferred to cloud services.
Implement and manage cloud-based systems for business use and help debug cloud stacks. Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal solutions.
Develop Fit-for-Purpose User-defined views (subset of architectural data) created for a specific purpose.
Collaborate with engineering and cyber teams on the implementation of cloud technologies and initiatives.
Support cloud planning and strategy to establish a seamless cloud architecture between all existing environments.
Develop cloud service roadmaps that reduce operating and support costs such as paths to software as a service.
Monitor new cloud service offerings and demonstrate through development of business case analyses the benefit for Government implementation.

Qualifications
BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
COMPTIA Sec + or higher certification
Minimum of 7 years experience
Experience in Azure and Google Cloud
Experience with KIV and KG encryption devices and data transport
Experience designing and deploying workloads.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.
Ability to travel up to 25%, CONUS and OCONUS
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, move, and position equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments, including on uneven or natural surfaces.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lean, crouch, twist, bend, and squat as needed to inspect or analyze network infrastructure.
Must be able to work outdoors in deployed environments and perform duties in adverse weather conditions, including cold, rain, snow, and heat.
