Summary You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICAL (MECHANICAL) in the Surface Ship Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Branch (262), Design Division, Planning Department, Chief Engineer (249), Engineering and Planning Department (200), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will perform and direct other lower grade engineers and engineering technicians in the performance of system analysis and design services. You will prepare advance planning Technical Work Documents (TWDs). You will review existing Ship installation Drawings (SIDS) and equipment technical manuals. You will prepare Job Summaries and Task Group Instructions (TGIS). You will resolve problems encounter during removal, installation, grooming, or testing phases of waterfront production efforts You will perform checks of working plans, material specifications, test specs, and other documents for technical adequacy. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
