Job Description

This position provides general custodial activities under general supervision for all state-owned structures, land, and state-maintained structures and grounds. Duties are performed according to regularly assigned schedules, with priority given to specific areas/locations. Activities may include light maintenance, operation of equipment as needed, routine cleaning and housekeeping, groundskeeping, special maintenance and repair activities, special events, and other related work as required to maintain a pleasant, healthful, aesthetic, and secure environment for all staff and clientele. Note: Shift differential is paid from 6:00PM-8:30PM at $2.25/per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of different @types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents, and equipment.

Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents, and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.

Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.

Ability to have the physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions.

Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.

Ability to perform assigned tasks with limited work direction and ability to keep simple records.

Must have a valid Minnesota State class D driver's license.

Preferred Qualificat ion

Thorough knowledge of building custodial practices and procedures and equipment, materials, and supplies.

Special Class C Boilers License or higher, or the ability to obtain one.

Current class A CDL driver's license.

Ability to write reports.

Some knowledge of building utilities maintenance, and repair.
