Job Summary
This ten-week paid internship is be located in Chicago, IL
What Are Your Responsibilities?
This position is responsible for actively participating in an internship program that leverages your skills, knowledge and capabilities on the Information Security team while exposing you to different methodologies and tools. The Cybersecurity Platform Operations Intern is responsible for working with team members to complete day-to-day management and operations of assigned security solutions and platforms to help detect security vulnerabilities and events which pose risk to the enterprise. Additional project support, administrative tasks, and ad hoc requests to support business needs.
This role will also need to:
Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned.
responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
Create a final internship PowerPoint presentation to share with department leadership covering the internship experience, the assigned project over the course of the summer, including the results along with any solutions or recommendations that can be leveraged by the department in the future.
What Do You Need To Be Successful?
PREFERRED: Knowledge of AlgoSec or Wireshark is a strong plus.
Knowledge of programming languages like Python is a strong plus.
Ability to Assess and refine existing procedures and processes for continuous improvement.
Ability to interview cyber defense team members to capture and document processes to develop flowcharts of process decision points and interaction.
Knowledge around the installation and evaluation of cyber security tools and ability to perform proof of concept analysis for cyber defense.
Knowledge of common attack frameworks, attacker kill chains and defensive capabilities.
Interest in researching and understanding cyber-attacks and cyber threats.
Knowledge of or interest in learning about hacking tools.
Ability to create reports for metrics reporting purposes.
Ability to research and evaluate a tool or threat, etc.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical skills
Practical, developed PC skills, especially Excel, Word, and Teams
What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, MIS, Information Security, or Computer Science other related degrees may be considered.
Graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027
A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
Availability to work ten weeks during the summer (June - August)
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.  (Currently, we are not offering this program to students on a visa)

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.
