CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Software Engineer I.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Software Engineer I

Location: Corning, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm

Education: BS in Software Engineering or related technical degree

Description

CTG is seeking a motivated Software Engineer I to support the development and deployment of operational technology software in a manufacturing environment. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful integration of factory systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level engineer eager to grow technical and project experience in an industry-leading organization.

Requirements

Experience with data historians (preferably AVEVA PI)

Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps

Familiarity with SDLC processes, relational databases, and data analysis

Understanding of or interest in industrial automation (ISA-95, PLC, OPC, SCADA, MES, ERP, CMMS)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desire to learn message bus architectures and enterprise application development

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy software solutions for equipment integration

Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and integrate manufacturing systems

Test, troubleshoot, and optimize software to ensure reliability and performance

Provide technical support for deployed systems and maintain documentation

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel, including international

Education

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field

Experience

0-3 years of related experience (training provided as needed)
