We are looking for a highly motivated, driven, and curious client-focused Data Scientist for our Chicago, IL office to execute exciting and challenging projects throughout the region.

We are looking for a digital-minded and innovative Data Scientist to join us and work on a variety of water treatment, conveyance, and modeling projects. Each day, you will be an important team member as you participate in the design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients. Our senior engineers are committed to strong mentorship and providing opportunities to work independently and with peers. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office.

We are looking for a candidate who is going to leverage innovative digital solutions to add value to the high level of work that we already complete.

The employee will work alongside our local team and support senior level engineers and project managers to perform the following tasks:

Assist senior and mid-level engineers on larger, complex projects, including task management.

Participate in and lead tasks.

Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project goals.

Prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and calculations.

Prepare models, engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.

Possess a positive attitude, are dependable and meet assigned project deadlines.

Effectively work with project teams with diverse technical skill sets and geographic locations

Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and work in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships

Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

0-3 years of Data Science/Digital Implementation experience

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to lead and work with multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects

-Prioritize data governance and data management best practices

-Work with project managers and clients to understand needs and be able to come up with digital solutions to fill those needs

Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred

-Professional experience in consulting, digital solutions, data engineering, data management, data analysis, GIS, engineering, and visualization

-Expertise in tools and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, Python, SQL, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), GIS, and database technology (data lakes, vector database, etc.)

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience

Experience with DevOps, Jira, or related Degree in data science, statistics, computer science, computer engineering, or information systems Supply Chain and Asset Management experience is a plus
