Foreman

Job Description

This role involves performing basic labor and carpentry duties in the field while providing assistance to the on-site Superintendent. The Foreman is also responsible for leading the Hoist operators and laborers.

Responsibilities

Perform general on-site labor and carpentry duties as needed, including setup and cleanup tasks such as debris removal.

Direct traffic within the construction site to ensure the safety of the work crew.

Assist with the loading and delivery of materials.

Operate a variety of hand and power tools.

Install items related to job site safety and functionality.

Assist the on-site Superintendent with the coordination of trade contractors.

Monitor work to maintain compliance with the work plan.

Support all safety efforts in the field and lead safety orientations.

Attend and participate in project meetings.

Essential Skills

High school diploma or GED.

2-5 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

In-depth understanding of construction principles and procedures.

Ability to read construction drawings.

Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Effective communication and reporting skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities.

Willingness to work in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Knowledge of Procore.

OSHA 30-hour certification.

The position is part of a government project taking place outdoors, with a 6 AM start time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
