Platform Engineer

The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a platform engineer, you're eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client's needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management sof tware to solve some of our clients' toughest challenges.

As a senior platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you'll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client's environment with current container sof tware to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you'll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.

You'll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you'll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

You Have:

5+ years of experience in the development of tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments

5+ years of experience setting up, troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues for CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness with automation tools

4+ years of experience developing, managing, and securing containers such as Kubernetes or Docker

3+ years of experience setting-up AWS environments and using AWS or Azure tools, including IAM management, EC2, Terraform, or CloudTrail

Experience in working with application development teams across the software development lifecycle and creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative team environment

Experience with leading Agile processes such as writing epics, stories, and tickets

Knowledge of scripting language Linux Shell Script

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of experience in DevOps in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

Experience with presenting technical concepts to audiences

Experience with creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks

Experience with DoD systems or government cloud systems

Experience with triaging and resolving issues related to both open-source and commercial tools in public cloud environments

Knowledge of various databases, including NoSQL and SQL

Knowledge of using message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or SNS

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, C++, or C#

Top Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
