Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Garden City, New York. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering a fantastic opportunity for an individual eager to contribute to a growing organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of invoices and payments.

Responsibilities:

Review and process a high volume of invoices while ensuring accuracy and proper coding.

Manage and execute check runs in a timely and efficient manner.

Reconcile vendor statements and promptly address discrepancies.

Collaborate with team members to ensure all accounts payable tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.

Maintain organized and up-to-date records for all accounts payable transactions.

Verify invoice details, including amounts and payment terms, to ensure compliance with company policies.

Handle inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding payment status.

Assist in preparing reports related to accounts payable and expenditures.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounts payable function.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable or a related financial role.

Strong understanding of invoice processing, coding, and payment procedures.

Proficiency in managing check runs and reconciling vendor accounts.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools is preferred.
