An established construction company is seeking a qualified Business & Accounting Analyst for their team located in Gallipolis, Ohio. This role is central to ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across our construction projects.

?Key Responsibilities

Project Accounting & Financial Reporting

Monitor project budgets, costs, and revenue recognition

Track expenses including labor, materials, and overhead

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances

Collaborate with project managers to optimize profitability

Cost Analysis & Budgeting

Conduct detailed cost analysis and identify savings opportunities

Prepare budget forecasts and cost-to-complete reports

Implement cost control measures and ensure budget adherence

Payroll & Compliance

Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with regulations

Manage certified payroll and prevailing wage documentation

Coordinate union fringe benefits and annual true-ups

Support state registrations and third-party tax compliance

Audit & Documentation

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Assist with internal and external audits, insurance reviews, and workers' comp true-ups

Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and agency requirements (ODOT, DOE, etc.)

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors

Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences

Participate in project meetings and support financial decision-making

This is a direct hire, full-time role, hiring immediately. The schedule is weekdays and business hours. Starting hourly rate is $30 per hour and this company offers health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance. There is not currently a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus)

2+ years of experience in construction accounting or public accounting

Strong understanding of US GAAP and construction project financials

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and accounting software (Foundation, Sage, or similar)

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

High ethical standards and professional integrity

Demonstrated initiative and adaptability in changing environments
