Job Posting: Administrative Assistant - Higher Education

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual looking to make an impact in the higher education sector? Our client, a reputable institution in the Springfield, MA area, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support their team in executing day-to-day operations seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and drafting correspondence.

Organize and maintain digital and physical files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.

Serve as the front-line contact for internal and external communications, including responding to inquiries from staff, faculty, and students.

Assist in the coordination of events, workshops, or departmental activities.

Process purchase orders, invoices, and other financial or departmental paperwork.

Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary.

Support departmental initiatives, including data collection and analysis, as needed.

Requirements:

Proven experience in an administrative, office support, or similar role.

Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and familiarity with Google Workspace and Workday.

Relevant experience in the higher education industry is preferred but not required.

Ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and remain focused in a dynamic environment.

A proactive and collaborative mindset, with strong problem-solving skills.
