The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Manager to lead headcount and people cost planning initiatives. This role will partner closely with Strategic Finance, Controllership, Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, and HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to drive visibility, forecasting, and operational excellence across headcount and people cost planning.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Thinking
Lead the development and enhancement of long-range headcount and people cost models to inform strategic planning and investment decisions.
Design standard methodologies and explore AI-driven solutions to automate cost allocation and improve financial modeling accuracy.
Stakeholder Influence
Provide strategic guidance on headcount and people cost planning to validate submissions and ensure executive alignment.
Partner cross-functionally with Microsoft, Strategic Finance, and Compensation teams to shape narratives, equity strategies, and annual review planning.
Execution & Organization
Oversee comprehensive visibility and reporting of people cost allocation, including Cost Per Headcount (CPH) and weekly reports for executive leadership.
Manage workforce planning processes and forecasting models, ensuring alignment across Strategic Finance, Controllership, and COE teams.
Performance Management
Monitor headcount forecast accuracy and risk/opportunity analysis, providing regular insights to optimize business performance.
Maintain and evolve stock-based compensation (SBC) and offer acceptance models to ensure effective performance and cost management.
Culture & Values
Drive collaboration across Finance, People Analytics, Talent Acquisition, and Compensation & Benefits to promote transparency and shared accountability.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement in headcount and cost planning through automation, analytics, and partnership.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field AND minimum 8 years of experience in finance, finance accounting, management consulting, investment banking, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong modeling and reporting skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
Ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders.
Experience with equity planning, severance modeling, or HC forecasting is a plus.
Build trusted relationships and fosters collaboration across diverse teams.
Champions data quality, automation opportunities, and scalable solutions to improve forecast accuracy and efficiency.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $149,000 to $242,000.
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
